Modular efficiency for retirement homes: convenience meets innovation
Retirement and care homes benefit ideally from modular construction – thanks to their small-scale structure and high repetition factors. In this project, 60 rooms were completely prefabricated, including interior fittings, and installed on the reinforced concrete ceiling of the ground floor in just a few days. Thanks to the modular construction method, the construction time was reduced by five months.
The cross-laminated timber construction offers a usable area of approx. 26 m² per module (dimensions: 3.80 m x 7.70 m). The system is acoustically impressive thanks to its double-shell design: each room is separated by an air gap, while load-bearing longitudinal walls are elastically supported. The result is a fast, sustainable and comfortable solution for modern living in the care sector.
