Alpenhotel Ammerwald: Kaufmann's first major modular construction project

The Alpenhotel Ammerwald, a traditional recreation and conference centre of the BMW Group, was the first major project to be realised in modular construction by Kaufmann Bausysteme – in collaboration with Kaufmann Zimmerei & Tischlerei. The new building fulfils the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

In a construction period of just two months, 96 prefabricated and fully equipped room cells made of cross-laminated timber were assembled on a solid base of in-situ concrete. The innovative construction enables a fourth bed storey to be added at a later date and combines sustainability with flexibility. The Alpenhotel exemplifies the premium standards of the BMW Group and the pioneering spirit of Kaufmann Bausysteme.
