Hotel Bergamo: Modern timber construction meets authentic room quality

The Hotel Bergamo in Ludwigsburg’s urban development area combines modern architecture with baroque-inspired details and a focus on tangible spatial quality. The four-storey modular timber building, crowned by a steep hipped roof with aluminium trapezoidal sheets, blends harmoniously into its surroundings.

The light grey façade made of cement fibre shingles and the striking dormers give the building a characteristic look. On the ground floor, the bistro, bar and reception create an inviting atmosphere with handcrafted furniture made from solid ash wood. The rooms are characterised by visible wooden surfaces and vibrant exposed concrete, which conveys warmth and naturalness.

The basement houses functional areas such as waste disposal, bike hire and staff rooms, as well as three rooms facing north onto the slope. Guests praise the successful combination of design, craftsmanship and urban functionality. Architecture critic David Kasparek puts it in a nutshell: “This hotel combines atmospheric warmth with urban elegance.”
