The highest wooden dormitory in Europe is the new landmark of Kuchl.

In just six months, the Holztechnikum boarding school tower, Europe’s highest wooden student dormitory, was completed. The timber construction was erected in modular design with a total of 7 storeys. This impressive achievement demonstrates the versatility and advantages of modern timber construction and emphasises the possibilities of wood as a material. The new boarding school building gives the Wissenscampus Kuchl a new, upgraded appearance in the town. The functional rooms, fitness room, games room and recreation room are located on the ground floor – the boarding school rooms are organised in the form of double and triple rooms on the six upper floors above. Thanks to the precise planning and coordination of all trades as well as the high degree of prefabrication, the project was completed in a construction time of just 6 months.</p
